2022 Les Collines Block 50 Syrah

Karta’s first ever Syrah from Walla Walla Washington came to us from a highly respected and acclaimed vineyard: Les Collines Vineyard.
More specifically, the fruit comes from Block 50. This block of Syrah is highly coveted amongst winemakers in Washington and Oregon. Very few wineries get the opportunity to produce from this block and we feel very honored.
The intention of this Syrah was to craft a rich, dark, and elegantly intense wine that could line up well with the rest of Karta’s portfolio. Being careful to not over work the grapes, we performed very minimal intervention each day of the fermentation. Aged in 50% Neutral 500L barrels and 50% Amphora for 10 months.
The resulting wine is deep dark purple in color, floral and earthy on the nose, with plenty of rich dark fruit on the palate. Drink Now to 2032. Paden West
